I arrived early at the office. Pero 'di naman sobrang aga dahil ang hirap sumakay ng alas-sais ng umaga. When I arrived, many co-workers were already busy prepping the script, the set, the make-up and other stuff na related sa live prod. I immediately got the feeling na this day would not be like my first. This would be somewhat different. At least, that was what I was hoping. My first task for the day was to photocopy 10 sets of scripts and collate them. Good thing I had a background in photocopying, so I didn't have a hard time completing the task. My only mistake was imbes na face up ang text ng scratch paper, face down ko pinasok sa machine. Oyun, nagkapatong-patong tuloy ang print ko. Buti na lang talaga alam ko ang gagawin ko. Nag-print ako ulit nung mga nasira. LOL
After that, I was assigned to operate the tele-prompter. O diba? Feel na feel ko na ang pagiging PA. haha Mejo palpak nung una dahil ngayon ko pa lang nanavigate yun. Kahapon kasi, puro panood-nood lang ang peg ko. :)
Natapos na din ang pag-aala PA ko and move na sa next task which is ang maghanap ng nawawalang tape. Inikot ko na ang mga nakakalat ng tapes and archives wala. I went to check if it was misplaced sa ibang departments pero wala parin. OM, nakakaduling din pala mangalkal...so ayun, give up na ako. Wala talaga ang tape ng "OSD Metabolic Surgery Raw". Di ko talaga mahanap kahit na pa apat ang mata ko.
Moving on, ibang level na ang pinagawa sa akin. They asked me to transcribe an interview. Nung una, kapa kapa pa ako because I don't know what to do and what-nots. So ayun, parang pakikinig lang pala ng lyrics ng kanta yun at the same time, type mo na din. I thought it was easy kasi parang nakikinig ka lang sa calls then idodocument mo. Hindi pala. This was much harder because you have to type every word uttered plus yung length nung mga sinabi nya. Akala ko nga matutuyuan na ako ng utak. haha Unfortunately, I didn't finish it yet. The other department needs the Tracker kasi e (player pala yun kung saan play-pause-rewind-forward mo yung tape. Now ko lang nalaman na tracker pala tawag dun.) So ayun tambay muna ako ng konti.
Lunch has passed and may new-old task nanaman ako. Akala ko malulusutan ko na...di pala. Inutusan nanaman akong bumili ng food. Tawid and lakad nanaman ako ng malayo. This time, mejo nag-iba na sila ng order: 5 palabok, 1 yemas and 5 softdrinks. O diba, social! Sabi ko tuloy sa sarili ko, magdadala na ako ng payong. Kahit pa manghiram nalang ako sa kapitbahay para di madulok yung zebra skin ko.
I have arranged the food individually tapos noon, I went to help at the studio. May taping kasi eh. And-and-and, kumuha at nag-abot nanaman ako ng water. I know better this time na meron talagang may gusto ng maligamgam. Maybe because it's freezing cold inside the studio. Talagang nakakapanigas ng kaluluwa yung pagtambay doon. After ng ilang abot at bawi, natapos din. Next task is to give the food sa mga guests and escort them to the elevator. Dapat magpaka PA ka and say, "thank you, balik po kayo..." with matching smile na abot sa tenga. Effort!
Gayunpaman, I'm happy because I feel na I have learned something. Hands-on din pala sila. Pakipot lang sa simula. :D Siguro at first, they think na di mo pa kaya kaya instead of gambling na baka pumalpak ka, they would rather do it muna.
Malapit na ang time and I am excited to go home. Nga-nga lang kasi yung pinapatranscribe sa akin, need pala matapos by the end of the day. Sa madaling salita, I waited for the News Department to finish using the Tracker nang magamit and matapos ko na yung work ko. Napa-OT pa tuloy ako ng hindi oras. Pero ayos lamang kasi masaya naman e. I'm getting the "feel" of it and so far, I am liking it. I finished the work after an hour or so and I emailed it to my Boss. O diba, kahit pagod oks lang kasi may natatapos akong work.
At the end of the day, wala akong masabi. Masaya lang. Sana sa mga susunod na araw ay mas madami pa akong matutunan. Oh and sana mag-field ako-like yung out of studio taping. I bet, that is more fun than studio tapings. :)))))
